Our Traditions

Bar D’Ambra is a family run cafe patisserie on the island of Lipari, in the heart of the Aeolian Islands. The cafe’s success can be attributed to the humble beginnings and hard work of the D’Ambra family. It is now run by brother and sister duo, children of master pastry chef, Giovanni D’Ambra. They are the second generation of Aeolian culinary artisans, who bring a unique blend of tradition and innovation to their craft. They continue to use the family’s recipes and techniques, upholding the traditional baking methods of the past even if production time is more consuming.

Bar D’Ambra prides itself on serving simple yet delicious local food using the highest quality ingredients and locally sourced where possible. Bar D’Ambra serves Sicilian breakfast, lunch, dinner and their now famous aperitivos. Dessert of course is always on the menu. Nestled right on the sea front, it’s large shady umbrellas, generous tables and kids area beckon all. Bar D’Ambra is not just a cafe but a place of refuge and relaxation where locals as and travellers alike are welcomed as part of the family.
